Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Ebenezer Baptist Church, Atlanta GA

IMG_1892I want to give an Honor to God who is ahead of my life and God bless everyone in their respective places. I am so excited to have visited Ebenezer Baptist Church the very exact church Dr. Martin Luther King Jr preached at under the leadership of the Williams and King families. The focus of their church was food, shelter, and health needs. During the civil rights movement in the 50’s and 60’s Ebenezer gained global exposure for education, voter registration, and other civic reforms.

Rev. King Sr. father of Dr. King Jr. loved his family and his church home the same love he gave his children he gave his membership.

This church has significant value and this is where King’s grandfather and father have served as pastors during the 1960’s, Dr. King severed as co-pastor, and after his assassination, King’s brother took over as co-pastor. Just like any other church that has activities, bible studies, meetings and more were led by King’s grandmother and mother. I can imagine what it is today only if the legacy is still being celebrated. The women of impact and influence that should come through and pay their respects. I mean I would invest and fly out to celebrate.

Annual Women’s Day hosted by Coretta Scott King will be celebrating its 55th year October 2017

I can’t believe I was standing in the church where Mama King was fatally shot in 1974 along with Deacon Edward Boykin and 3 others were wounded. My God, I pray for their families and loved ones. We have to pray for our churches and keep them covered.

The Sanctuary and Fellowship Hall has the exact same appearance it did in the 1960’s when you walk in the church there is audio of Dr. King speeches and sermons. I believe if you went there early enough you can pray over your seat and set back to listen to the exact words Dr. King has preached. I’m not sure if there’s a time limit to your visit but it closes at 5pm.

Everybody can be great, because everybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve… You don’t have to know Einstein’s theory of relativity to serve… You only need a heart full of grace, a soul generated by love. And you can be that servant. Martin Luther King Jr. “The Drum Major Instinct” sermon at Ebenezer Baptist Church, February 4, 1968

The biographical exhibits are breath-taking at the King Center this is the place I cried right before going into the Rosa Parks room. The King Center is where both the tombs of Dr. King and wife Mrs. Coretta Scott King are Reflecting.

Whenever you get the chance to come to Atlanta if you don’t already live in Atlanta I suggest you visit to get the full experience because my experience is not your experience. There are people in Atlanta who lived here for years and haven’t taken the time out. Let the Holy Spirit move you. All pictures are mine.

Declaration: God is Light

1 John 1:5 This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. 6 If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

Don’t Paralyze Your Dreams

Calm your worries. What is your worry condition? Are you troubled by your anxieties and suffering from you’re disturbing thoughts. Don’t torment yourself any longer today is a day all by itself. Matthew 6:34 “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today” We fight against so many thoughts whether we are worried about our home, family, finances, relationships, and multiple circumstances we can think of.

I started to keep record of my worries by writing my worries in a journal and reflect on what it is I’m most worried about, so I know what I’m up against and have a clear understanding of what I’m praying for. Philippians 4:6 “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done” We tend to worry no one cares for us, so in result to that we are in our feelings most of time about “worry” no one loves me, no one calls me, no one have shown appreciation, and the list goes on. 1 Peter 5:7 ”Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you” I care about you as well I care enough to help you and I get a whole of our worries.

Lets go in depth with our worries they can be small or big, a small worry increased to something big, or a big worry now lets decrease it to something small. Ask yourself this Luke 12:25 Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? No, but it can surely take away from your life. Worry is a thief itself John 10:10 “Purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life” Do you believe in giving your worries to God? How can God take care of your worries if you are not giving them to him? Do you not trust in the Lord your God. John 14:1 “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me”

“Worry is like a weed it pops up as a baby sprout at first, but if you don’t cut it off immediately it grows into paralyzing fear and chokes your potential and dreams” Baydian Style Blogger Tamara Holder

Ecclesiastes 5:7 “Talk is cheap, like daydreams and other useless activities. Fear God instead”
