We pulled 4 round tables together for a good conversation Cora asked us to each bring 5 questions and there was at least one question amongst all of us that was gonna make you cry, laugh, learn, rethink, and more you just never know what emotions were about to be spilled on the table. I had fun and can’t wait to do it again.

Have Taco Tuesday At Home

It’s Taco Tuesday in my house yes my house I don’t have to go too far to enjoy Taco Tuesday and you don’t neither unless you like the atmosphere of loud music and drinks that’s something I can also do right from home except I’m not a heavy drinker a little wine here and there.

I put this post together to show you how creative you can get by inviting friends over and creating a theme to set the evening mood let just hope everyone is up for Tacos, games, and fun. Depending on the number of people you will expect will determine the size of your Taco Bar. Prepping for 10 people won’t make sense if only 4 people are coming after stuffing your face with Tacos you might not want them the next day.

I purchased all ingredients from my local grocery store and I used what I liked or would want in my Tacos I’m not a vegan this week so I didn’t load up on veggies I used a few here’s a list of ingredients I used.

My meat choices were Chicken and Ground Turkey. I baked the Chicken and then shredded it to pieces then grilled it. Tomatoes, Avocado, Corn, pickled jalapeño slices (optional), finely shredded Mexican style Four cheese blend, lettuce, sour cream, Ortega Taco sauce, Nacho cheese flavored Taco Shells, and Old El Paso soft tortillas.

Old Lady Gang A Southern Eatery in Atlanta, GA #KandiBurruss

Real Housewives of Atlanta Kandi Burruss – Tucker and husband Todd Tucker came together on an idea to share some home Southern recipes. I love their family traditional recipes and how each member of the family has their own recipe on the menu.

The cornbread muffins with Kandi’s homemade honey icing and syrup. I tried to get the recipes but you know how that goes. I walked away with no recipe.

IMG_2075

I ordered the Old Lady Gang House Salad. This chicken is on point I need the recipe for that too. It was really good and my waiter made sure I was good and if he was too busy I made sure I asked with no problem.

Some of the credit goes to Aunt Joyce mother of Kandi, Aunt Bertha, and Aunt Nora who is the “Old Lady Gang” are the ones who taught Kandi to throw down in the kitchen. The Old Lady Gang is located right in the city’s Historic + Art District which is the Castleberry Hill neighborhood in Atlanta, GA

When you in Atlanta, GA make sure you stop by and show love. It’s not that intimidating you might be nervous for a bit but then once you warm up everyone is so laid back and respectful. All photos are my own.

After Dinner Snack For The Kids

Who said eating dessert with the family had to be boring well in my case it is boring when it’s just me.

Are you watching what you eat? Detox, Fasting, or any Cleanse. Let the kids enjoy this.

Do things differently this time around. Don’t know what to eat when craving for a sweet tooth? Here’s something you can try at home without going to a fancy restaurant. I brag different meaning I don’t need to do a Facebook check-in to prove to people I’m out to eat I rather show off what I can make at home in my own kitchen. You can too maybe you can come up with something tastier than what you see.

Ingredients:

Honey Buns (Iced optional)

Honey Roasted Peanuts (Whatever nuts you prefer)

Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup (Or whatever flavor you decide to use)

Ice Cream of your choice

Chicken Breast with Vegetable Cream Cheese

What are you having for lunch? Looking to make a sandwich or thinking of ideas and ways you can stop eating those same old boring sandwiches. Find a new favorite lunch.

There are so many things you can add to sandwiches without even realizing it’s ok to put certain ingredients on sandwiches. Your Taste Your Rules.

If I asked you to list 50 sandwich ideas how many would you come up with?

Ladies I’m going to give you some fun ways to make your man a sandwich that’s going to have him saying “you never did this before” you got to get people out of their comfort zone and stop thinking with a traditional mindset.

Here’s a list of ingredients you can think about when making your next sandwich:

  • Turkey
  • Hummus
  • Chicken Salad
  • Corn beef
  • Egg Salad
  • I bet you never thought about using Ricotta as a spread?
  • Slaw
  • Spinach Artichoke
  • Buffalo Chicken
  • Sliced Pear (fruit), and more

What you see here is a sandwich I create from scratch because I wanted to add the things I eat instead of following a recipe because it looked good, but on this sandwich, I used oven roasted Chicken Breast, American white cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, a Vegetable bagel, or you can use a Pretzel bagel and Garden Vegetable cream cheese. It might not be your taste buds but don’t knock it until you try it. I wanted to keep it cold cut but you can also fry your lunch meat to give it a cooked flavor.

Homemade Ultra Nacho Supreme Salad

This is my dinner craving I’m no pro cook or food blogger I like recipes when I want something I can cook at home. Great family appetizer or a planning snack. If you ordered this at a restaurant how much would you pay for this? I totaled up all the ingredients I got from my local supermarket/grocery store and it came up to $10.75 for 3+ servings.

Optional Ingredients:

Doritos – JACKED [RANCH DIPPED HOT WINGS]

Corn – I boiled the corn for a few minutes.

Cheese – finely shredded. I used the Mexican style that you would normally use for quesadillas.

Lettuce – optional I didn’t use lettuce or onions.

Sour Cream

Tomatoes – fresh diced or petite cut, however, you like them. Stay away from can tomatoes if you can.

Ground beef – I used my regular seasoning like Goya Adobo and then I added Taco Bell Taco seasoning mix. Some people won’t use seasoning and just use the Taco Seasoning but I use both.

Ortega Taco Sauce – Medium
