Homemade Baked Chicken

Sunday dinner at my house are dishes that can easily be made versatile for the picky eater which is me at the moment. I just like to sound like this housewife that enjoys cooking for her family. There are many ways to use baked chicken and I hope you can get some ideas to make dinner fun at your house.

I’m baking Chicken Leg Quarters for the recipes I’ll be cooking. I’m not someone who goes into the history of a chicken because I’ll get all freaked out and turn vegan I have never thought of protesting against animal brutality ok that’s another post. Thank you for coming to see what I made for dinner.

Before I put the chicken in the oven

This is where I checked on the chicken to see how it was cooking it still needed to cook for another 20 mins and then I let it sit in the oven afterward to keep the heat in the pan.

So I cleaned the meat and then poured vinegar over it to give it that final cleanse, I got that from the Jamaicans when they cook Jerk Chicken. I let the chicken marinate for about a half hour nothing too drastic or overnight.

I seasoned the chicken with:
Goya Adobo all purpose seasoning with pepper and con pimienta
Sazón Goya (orange packet)
Fajita seasoning
Basil

Old Lady Gang A Southern Eatery in Atlanta, GA #KandiBurruss

Real Housewives of Atlanta Kandi Burruss – Tucker and husband Todd Tucker came together on an idea to share some home Southern recipes. I love their family traditional recipes and how each member of the family has their own recipe on the menu.

The cornbread muffins with Kandi’s homemade honey icing and syrup. I tried to get the recipes but you know how that goes. I walked away with no recipe.

I ordered the Old Lady Gang House Salad. This chicken is on point I need the recipe for that too. It was really good and my waiter made sure I was I was good and if he was too busy I made sure I asked with no problem.

Some of the credit goes to Aunt Joyce mother of Kandi, Aunt Bertha, and Aunt Nora who is the “Old Lady Gang” are the ones who taught Kandi to throw down in the kitchen. The Old Lady Gang is located right in the city’s Historic + Art District which is the Castleberry Hill neighborhood in Atlanta, GA

When you in Atlanta, GA make sure you stop by and show love. It’s not that intimidating you might be nervous for a bit but then once you warm up everyone is so laid back and respectful. All photos are my own.

Smoked, Smooth & Savory… Dare Your Tastebuds

92nd sauce is what you need if you’re looking to spice up your BBQ this summer.

Everett & Jones barbecue was founded by the family matriarch Dorothy Turner Everett and her 9 children in 1973. With a $700 Loan and an abandoned building on 92nd Avenue, Everett & Jones Barbeque was born. Everett & Jones is known for its signature sauce that contains just the right amounts of heat, sweet and smoke. Sadly, Dorothy passed away but she left a legacy that will reach more than the Bay Area in CA.
This gift basket is perfect for anyone who has a love and taste for BBQ sauce. You don’t have to be a pro grill master to elevate your next barbecue, you just need to know how to apply BBQ sauce to your meat.
