More fun, love, laughter, tears, and wise counsel. Thank you, Pastor Cora Jakes Coleman, for another blessed day with you a glorious weekend this Brunch was like no other and I was excited to be present.
Ellen’s Southern Kitchen was the perfect location in the heart of Dallas, Texas and who wouldn’t want homemade comfort foods? Ellen’s offered Brunch all day so yes you can have breakfast for dinner. Why not? Very busy and fast-paced.
The Mimosa’s though! I honestly think it was my first time trying Mimosa. Yummy
We pulled 4 round tables together for a good conversation Cora asked us to each bring 5 questions and there was at least one question amongst all of us that was gonna make you cry, laugh, learn, rethink, and more you just never know what emotions were about to be spilled on the table. I had fun and can’t wait to do it again.
Real Housewives of Atlanta Kandi Burruss – Tucker and husband Todd Tucker came together on an idea to share some home Southern recipes. I love their family traditional recipes and how each member of the family has their own recipe on the menu.
The cornbread muffins with Kandi’s homemade honey icing and syrup. I tried to get the recipes but you know how that goes. I walked away with no recipe.
I ordered the Old Lady Gang House Salad. This chicken is on point I need the recipe for that too. It was really good and my waiter made sure I was good and if he was too busy I made sure I asked with no problem.
Some of the credit goes to Aunt Joyce mother of Kandi, Aunt Bertha, and Aunt Nora who is the “Old Lady Gang” are the ones who taught Kandi to throw down in the kitchen. The Old Lady Gang is located right in the city’s Historic + Art District which is the Castleberry Hill neighborhood in Atlanta, GA
The 2nd bar is the downstairs lounge.
If you watched Bravo TV’s Real Housewives of Atlanta you would have seen the introduction of OLG.
When you in Atlanta, GA make sure you stop by and show love. It’s not that intimidating you might be nervous for a bit but then once you warm up everyone is so laid back and respectful. All photos are my own.

Complimentary meal sponsored by the Salvation Army. My first time in Cracker Barrel Old Country Store. Well at least something I can remember. Cracker Barrel offer southern hospitality and is originated from Lebanon, Tennessee. A restaurant where you hear the word “folks” with me being from the east coast and up north I’m learning the many languages and slang of the world. Everything is made fresh daily so I can imagine how much food is being tossed out on a daily prayerfully they can send it to the homeless shelters in need. I don’t know what they do with the food they don’t use. The biscuits are made from scratch and the baked goods are baked freshly throughout the day.
Cracker Barrel want to give you that homestyle love by making you feel comfortable as if you’re eating at your home table. You can share family time while you wait with a fun Peg Game placed on all tables.
I think it’s very interesting for the Old Country Store to be attached to the restaurant and not just this one but mostly all of them. The store offer a wide range of groceries, clothes, accessories, games, and more. The store will soon to add cold cut meat at the deli. One thing Cracker Barrel is known for is their well known cheese.
Cracker Barrel compliments me with a map and suggest I have fun on my road trip. Cracker Barrel has over 630 locations in 42 states, and a gift shop attached to the restaurant.
Weekday lunch special, Country dinner plates, and Homestyle favorites. I was so into the Peg Game I believe our waiter (David) came out in a timely manner. All the aprons have a cool twist to them it’s more of a cooking apron and not a below the waist apron.
Overall I enjoyed myself and had a southern style experience in Massachusetts.
